Chinese tradition is that at a baby's first birthday he is given a choice of a variety of objects. Which one(s) he picks will predict his future profession and fortune (I'm probably getting this all wrong).

Javier did well for himself:



Without hesitation (other babies took a long time, which is why we had to wait an hour and a half for his turn) he went straight for the baseball.

#2 was the Coca-Cola can (whose translated brandname means happiness).

And most fortunately, for #3, though it was hidden under a bunch of stuff, he made a beeline for the gold coin.

Let the training begin.
