Javier has not yet slept through the night even though he is now 9.5 months old. It means Mamu has not had a full night sleep since giving birth and she is getting extremely grouchy and tired. Javier practically was attached to Mamu the whole month we were traveling. He could not sleep without me. After we came back to Taipei, he at least is sleeping in his own room but he still woke up two or three times a night. Mamu and our nanny are both on the verge of breaking down. Tonight we tried for another CIO. Javier is now big enough to stand in the crib and howl. Our nanny went in after 10 minutes and after I got her out of room, she looked at me like I'm some crazy woman. I told her Joaquin went through the same training and if you are hoping to get some decent sleep soon, you need to stay away from the room and let him cry. 50 minutes and he finally fell asleep after we changed his diaper (he was too angry and made a little poo poo). Let's hope tomorrow would be easier.

Joaquin's ER Run
We took Joaquin to ER today. He was standing on his little stool going pee pee and then Mamu wanted to take out his clothes to give him a bath. Somehow he fell from the stool and hit the toilet bowl with his abdomen. Joaquin went temporarily out of breath and was complain abdomen pain afterwards. To make sure he is okay, we decided to bring him to ER. He is such a brave kid. He got his BP measured in the triage room. The doc ordered an x-ray and he was standing so well (and still) for the x-ray. The diagnosis? Joaquin just has a full stomach of poo poo to worry about! (the doc asked when was the last time he went!)

In all the excitement about Javiercito, we are trying to also make sure our first-born doesn't feel neglected. As a bribe, Javiercito...
