CIO, the Final Chapter (so we hope)

Javier has not yet slept through the night even though he is now 9.5 months old. It means Mamu has not had a full night sleep since giving birth and she is getting extremely grouchy and tired. Javier practically was attached to Mamu the whole month we were traveling. He could not sleep without me. After we came back to Taipei, he at least is sleeping in his own room but he still woke up two or three times a night. Mamu and our nanny are both on the verge of breaking down. Tonight we tried for another CIO. Javier is now big enough to stand in the crib and howl. Our nanny went in after 10 minutes and after I got her out of room, she looked at me like I'm some crazy woman. I told her Joaquin went through the same training and if you are hoping to get some decent sleep soon, you need to stay away from the room and let him cry. 50 minutes and he finally fell asleep after we changed his diaper (he was too angry and made a little poo poo). Let's hope tomorrow would be easier.

Argh - so sorry to hear about your CIO experiences. We have CM sleep trained now - though there are still some times (esp when we are off schedule) when she will be up for an entire hour of her nap. I find I didn't do the Ferber way - we just let her cry herself to sleep and if she isn't out in 25 min then she probably pooed or has another issue. So basically it is an hour of not going in (ok, really 25 min). We wish you the best of luck and appreciate your updates..

We are still crying Oli out and he's 13 months old! Just when we think he's sleeping through the night, he relapses. Sigh...

Last day at Fuhsing!
