A Culinary Tribute to our Grandmother

Food is the glue that binds the Siu family together. Fantastic potluck dinners are the norm and even now, almost every morning I am here in Panama I can expect there will be some dish or special beverage or particular seasonal fruit that one of my uncles will have dropped off.

And our Apo (who passed away last Friday) was the Head Chef, so what better way to celebrate her legacy than her children and grandchildren getting together to cook and feast on her signature dishes.

Because she was a such a fantastic, intuitive cook, and so generous in spreading the goodies far and wide, there was essentially instant agreement as to the list of dishes we just had to make.

Thank goodness for Whatsapp group chatting allowing us a transnational network of cousins to consult for the exact recipes
